This is a short outline of range of  learning programmes and performances developed by Big Bang Lab

CREATIVE PEACE: INTERFAITH AND INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE (http://musicandpeace.ning.com) Film and music project to raise the views of young people about the Palestine and Israel conflict. The programme establishes links with a local cinema, schools and a media centre. Workshops leading to the production  and live music performance for a new digital film made by young people from Muslims and Jewish communities in London using historical archives. A final screening of documentaries made by Israel and Palestinian filmmakers and key people invited for an inclusive debate will be included in the learning programme which includes a DVD and further resources.

ORAL HISTORY TO SONGWRITING
This is an intergenerational oral history project with the objective of engaging young people and the elderly members of the community in a common creative project in order to use the real stories and bring them alive. The material is used in a number of ways, from podcasting to song writing as well as for film and music projects using external resources such as archive films or photographs provided by Big Bang Lab.

BALLOON ORCHESTRA http://www.balloonorchestra.org A series of workshops for organizations as a team building and fun workshop using balloons as a percussion instrument to create rhythmic soundtrack for silent films, to accompany singing or as a standalone musical and creative experience.

TRANSITION TO SECONDARY To explore how music can support young people at risk of becoming disengaged at the time of transition between primary to secondary school. This project involves the use of original music, audio recording and film. The transition process to the unknown (the future / secondary) from the past (primary) is used as a starting point to elaborate the project from the concept of heritage and legacy. The project involves audio recording and songwriting workshops.

KARAOKE PIANO workshop and performance with one piano, eight hands at once playing different parts and a backing track to perform new compositions live to selected silent films for young musicians from  5 to 9 years old.

REACT NOW! Holocaust Memorial Day starting to use a film that deals with hatred in relation to a post-Holocaust history using film, music performance that are attractive to young audiences. The outcome will be the creation of a new digital silent film made by the students using archives with a live music performance.

FAVELA RECICLA A contemporary silent documentary mixed  with 3D animation project  with live music. It is an environmental learning project focused on recycling by engaging young people creatively in making their own toys.  The goal is  to create awareness of industry waste and the importance of recycling through active and creative participation.

BIG BANG LAB HEALTH, ARTS AND SCIENCE PROJECT - workshops and performance - Intergenerational oral history and inclusive creative project. Film and music project around the senses and memory working with a group of neurologists, a group of Alzheimer’s patients  and two group of young people aurally and visually impaired will take it as a starting point to make a digital silent film and the music using exclusively archive images. The collective film will be screened with live music together with other films to make a programme and debate at a key London venue(s)
